The Challenge
I am not a photographer in the sense that I know what I’m doing or that I’m any good. I do love imagery though and sometimes, I catch sight of something that quickens my pulse.
I’ve decided to do a photo challenge (corresponding with my Newsletter #12 (sign up here), which deals with getting out of our artistic ruts. So, for the next 30 days, I’m going to take at least one photo, in the morning. End date: 12/15/15.

This morning I saw in color. I started looking at the mundane that I usually ignore. I found vignettes in unexpected places and when the sun, so low on the horizon, slipped into my windows, everything was transformed. I took about 75 photos this morning and had many usable images but, I had to make some cuts. I was brutal. Below are my favorites for this cold, clear morning – there are many.

A regular old day. The next four days, I took photos but didn’t have time to post them. The work snowballs. This takes a lot of time, I’ve come to realize. A lot of thinking too.
Top left: The original – untouched. Found that it’s hard to get a blurred shot. It took me about 15 tries. Second image, I used a filter. Same with the third

It’s selfie with plants day! An oft celebrated event: that no one has ever heard about!
I was going to do butt selfies – hey all the girls (and some misguided young men) are doing it. But, I thought wow, I’m tired of defining my self worth by my butt. There’s plenty of girls still willing to do so so, I’m abandoning my crown to Kim Kardashian, Jen Selter (whoever she is), Rihanna and oh, so many, more. Plus mine is flat and wrinkly. Didn’t want to mention that part.
Selfie with pointy leaves, selfie with oak galls, selfie with liquidambar tree, selfie in the trees.
